Receiving the ordinances and blessings of the Temple

This lesson was given by me, Marjorie Chambers , in Relief Society July 12,2009.

The lesson is from the Joseph Smith Manual Chapter 36 page 413
The Lord Commanded Joseph to have the saints build a Temple. Joseph knew that the saints
most important work was to build a Temple.
The church is not fully organized, in it's proper order , and cannot be, until the Temple is completed. Joseph's time on earth was was drawing to a close and he knew it so he really tried hard to get the Nauvoo Temple completed .
Joseph said that after we receive our endowments it would bring us out of darkness into
marvelous light.
In God's eternal plan, salvation is an individual matter but exaltation it is a family matter.

We have to do baptisims and Templework for our kindred dead so that we can all be
sealed together. If we don't do this work we will be rejected, and our dead with us .


The reason we build Temples is because we have to have a special place that has been dedicated
to the Lord for the special ordinances that are preformed there.
